Infrastructure Projects

At Incite, we enjoy working alongside clients to help with the delivery of large infrastructure projects.  We provide expert planning and consultation services and advice to a number of key clients for large infrastructure projects across New Zealand in the transport, telecommunications and electricity transmission sectors.

We are able to provide ‘whole of project’ planning services from inception through to obtaining all necessary RMA permissions. Our expertise includes project engagement and community consultation, preparing Notices of Requirement, designations and obtaining resource consents from both Regional and District Councils. We regularly prepare expert planning evidence and present this at plan and court hearings.

As the lead consultant for many large projects, we have the experience and insight necessary to provide valuable planning input into strategic studies, option evaluation and submissions on proposed plans.

Transport

We work alongside the NZ Transport Agency on a large number of transport projects throughout the country. Projects have included planning and engagement for new sections of State Highway and walking and cycling facilities, upgrades to existing roads, and planning input into strategic studies. Incite is extensively experienced in Notices of Requirement for designating new routes and altering existing routes, as well as regional resource consents required for such projects. A number of Incite staff have also undertaken secondments into various NZ Transport Agency offices to assist with internal resourcing requirements.

Electricity Transmission

Incite has assisted Transpower in obtaining resource consents, designations or designation alterations for a range of transmission line and substation projects including a new spur line and substation to connect a power station to the National Grid in Taranaki, transmission line undergrounding projects in Hamilton and Auckland and several transmission line realignment projects.  Incite also provides planning advice, submission drafting and expert planning evidence in relation to National Grid transmission line corridor management.  This has included projects of national significance heard before Boards of Inquiry.

Telecommunications

Incite provides resource management services throughout New Zealand for several telecommunications companies.  This includes mobile phone site and fibre network roll outs for a number of major telecommunications companies, and previous or current submarine cable projects for Chorus (Hauraki Gulf), Vodafone/Spark (Raglan to Sydney Tasman Global Access Cable) and Spark/Southern Cross Cable (Southern Cross Next Project).  Incite also provides ongoing planning assistance to the New Zealand Police for upgrades and extensions to their national radio network.

Education

Incite has extensive experience throughout New Zealand as the lead consultant for school designations and site selection studies on behalf of the Minister of Education, including Māori immersion schools. This has included a number of complex new school projects with high community interest in Auckland and Christchurch. A number of projects in Christchurch relate to the relocation of schools resulting from the Canterbury Earthquakes and associated demographic change. New school projects undertaken also generally include provision for early childhood education.
